What can travelers expect?

This project replaces 5 outdated culverts under US 12 and SR 8 that are identified as barriers to fish migration. A 50-mph reduced speed limit and shifted lanes around temporary work zones are in place with one lane open in each direction in the work zones. Travelers can expect around-the-clock shifted lanes and reduced speed limits at all five locations until the end of the project in late 2025. The majority of the work will take place Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

In addition to lane closures, travelers will also see intersection closures. The Monte-Brady Road intersection with US 12 is closed at milepost 12.5 near Montesano for the duration of the project. Travelers can still exit the highway in either direction. The Monte-Brady Road intersection at milepost 14.7 in Brady will remain open. On SR 8, the median crossing at Mox Chehalis Road East at milepost 8 is closed. Travelers on Mox Chehalis Road East can turn right onto the highway. Left turns will be limited throughout the project. The Mox Chehalis Road overpass near McCleary will remain open.
