In late 2022, WSDOT, in partnership with the City of Covington, conducted an online survey. This survey asked a series of questions regarding travel needs and patterns on the SR 516 corridor.
There were 494 surveys completed. The predominant concerns were related to:
- Safety and congestion at SR 516 intersections
- Intersection design/operations
- Pedestrian and bicyclist access and safety
The survey responses informed the development of near and mid-term improvement concepts, particularly as it related to safety, intersection operations, and pedestrian and bicycle access on SR 516. The following series of graphics provides a high-level summary of key survey responses:
