WSDOT construction and traffic restriction during Seattle soccer
During the five weeks of Seattle's summer of soccer, WSDOT will be restricting and limiting work on some state owned highways and interstates, mainly in the greater Seattle area, closest to Seattle Stadium (Lumen Field). Most notably, Revive I-5 over the Ship Canal Bridge in the northbound lanes will remove all traffic control during the five weeks of soccer matches in Seattle.
Additional restrictions from noon the day before a match, to noon the day following a match, will be in place that only limit full roadway overnight closures and ramp closures on I-90 between Seattle and the Idaho State Line, US 2 from Everett to Wenatchee, I-5 from Tacoma to Bellingham, all of I-405 and other state owned routes between Seattle, Tacoma, Everett and Bellevue.
Construction will not stop during the five weeks of matches in Seattle. In fact, most construction will continue on our state owned highways outside of the Seattle vicinity where matches are taking place. Travelers should check our real-time map for continued construction updates.
Hood Canal Bridge:
Those traveling the Hood Canal Bridge, SR 104, from June 6, through July 15, should note there will be two scheduled Coast Guard approved openings during daytime hours at 10 a.m., and 2 p.m. Nighttime openings are restricted to the hours between 11 p.m., and 5 a.m.
Lastly, welcome to Washington! We’re thrilled you have traveled to this great state. Our state’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cities await you.
