SR 520 – Montlake Project – Bicycle and pedestrian connections

Bicycle and pedestrian bridge

After construction, a bicycle and pedestrian bridge will connect Lake Washington Boulevard to East Montlake Park. This bridge will feature attractive landscaping and a fantastic view of Lake Washington. You can expect intermittent work on the bicycle and pedestrian bridge to continue through 2023.

In the northwest corner of the project area, crews have begun work to create a bicycle and pedestrian tunnel under Montlake Boulevard. The path will connect the SR 520 Trail with the Bill Dawson Trail. The tunnel is expected to open in the fall.
