Spring has sprung, and the tulips are in full bloom! But as we all know, where there are beautiful flowers, there’s often…traffic.
The Tulip Festival is in full swing, and while we’re all for admiring nature’s colorful show, we want to remind you to keep your eyes on the road – not just on the tulips! 🌷
Due to the popularity of the festival, and ongoing construction in the area, we’ve created travel charts for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April 2025.
This resource provides real-time updates, ensuring you can plan your visit during peak bloom times.
Plan ahead for construction on I-5 in Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom Counties
During the month of April people traveling to the festival will likely travel through the ongoing I-5 Secret Creek Fish Passage project near Stanwood and the beginning stages of the I-5 Friday, Lake and Chuckanut Creek Fish Passage project between Burlington and Bellingham.
Travel considerations
Given the festival’s popularity, increased traffic congestion in and around Skagit Valley is common during this period. To ensure a smooth experience:
- Plan Ahead: Allocate extra travel time to accommodate potential delays.
- Travel During Off-Peak Hours: Consider visiting on weekdays or early mornings on weekends to avoid the heaviest traffic.
- Stay Updated: Regularly check WSDOT’s real-time travel data for current traffic conditions and any advisories.
- Public Transportation: Explore public transportation options or carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles on the road and ease parking challenges.
