How do I submit an update to the transit agency directory?

To revise a listing, please e-mail ptdirectory@wsdot.wa.gov or call 360-705-7877. Directory information is published on the Public Transportation Contacts page.

Can capital vehicle projects receive four-year awards?

No. Only two-year vehicle applications are available. If you’re unable to obtain a vehicle within the biennium, reappropriation may be allowed. We recommend placing vehicle orders as early as possible to avoid delays.

Is it possible to raise the mileage rate reimbursement?

WSDOT does not establish mileage reimbursement rates. More information is available on the Office of Financial Management’s Per Diem Rate Tables.

Do you have a template I can use for creating our own policy and procedures manual?

While we don’t have a template, you can use our guidebooks as examples for creating your own manuals. See our manuals on our Manage your public transportation grant webpage.

Where can I find information on additional grant opportunities from other agencies?

You can find information on other state and federal funding opportunities on Fund Hub WA.

Is there a WSDOT grant user manual or guidebook?

Yes. You can find our guidebooks on our Manage your public transportation grant webpage.

What resources are available for Grants Management System (GMS) training?

Training materials, including videos and reference documents, are available on our PTD GMS Resources webpage. You may also contact PTDGrants@wsdot.wa.gov for one-on-one assistance or additional support.

Why aren’t there more formula funding opportunities available?

The methodology for award distribution is typically determined by the funding authority. The Washington State Legislature, the Federal Transit Administration, and WSDOT’s Public Transportation Division each play a role in establishing whether a program awards funds through a formula allocation, a competitive process, or a combination of both. For state-funded programs, the Washington State Legislature determines which Public Transportation Division’s grants are distributed by formula.

For federally funded programs, WSDOT has some flexibility; the method of award distribution is selected to best align with the objectives of the grant programs and the goals of the Public Transportation Division.
